This collection contains biographical information and a cd that contains a listing of information included in the collection. The papers also include publications written by Ross from his research in swine diseases such as Bordetella, Pasteurella, and mycoplasmal pneumonia. In addition the collection contains reports to grant and contract sponsors including various pharmaceutical companies, the Iowa Pork Producers Association, National Pork Producers Council, the United States Department of Agriculture and the National Institutes of Health.

Richard Francis Ross was born April 30, 1935 in Washington, Iowa. He received his D.V.M. (1959), M.S. (1960) in veterinary bacteriology, and Ph.D. (1965) in veterinary bacteriology from Iowa State University.
